Anatomy of a Truffle

This is a Chocolate Necessities truffle, sliced for cross sectional viewing. Let's look a bit closer at some of things that make our truffles so mouth-wateringly smooth and give them such fullness of flavor.

Truffle Center First, we start with our centers. All of our centers are made by hand, carefully mixed and flavored by the sure hand of our expert chocolatier, Kevin Buck.

Outer Shell of a Truffle After we have prepared our exquisitely smooth centers, we add the outer layer to our truffles. The shell of each truffle is carefully chosen, using dark chocolate to complement a complex coffee flavor, or a milk to add a touch of sweetness to a dark center.

Garnish at the top of the truffle As a final touch, we add garnishes to our truffles. The garnish serves as a decoration, and as a means of indicating the flavor of the truffle. A flavor guide is included with each order.
